What Tools Does Disaster Response Use for Water Damage Clean-Up?
We only use the best equipment! With our extensive experience in the Temecula restoration industry, we've acquired state-of-the-art tools designed to tackle a wide range of challenges. This experience has also allowed our technicians to identify which type of equipment is best for a particular situation. Some of the most common water damage restoration tools we use include:

Infrared Cameras
Our infrared cameras give us the ability to see moisture in walls and ceilings that is not visible to the naked eye, almost like having "X-ray" vision. This capability allows us to detect and address trapped and hidden humidity, significantly reducing the risk of mold growth.

Moisture Meters
We use moisture meters to measure moisture levels in cellulose material. Before and after the drying process, we will conduct moisture readings in all areas of your property. If we detect moisture in an unaffected area of your building, we'll get to work quickly to dry it.

Air Movers
This equipment is designed to work in conjunction with our dehumidifiers. While our dehumidifiers extract moisture from the air and convert it to a liquid, our Air Mover helps to circulate this moisture in the air so that the dehumidifier can effectively remove it.

Ozone Generators
These advanced tools enable us to cleanse affected surfaces and the air in a more effective manner. Ozone Generators work by causing oxygen molecules to implode, making them a valuable deodorization tool.

Xtreme Xtractor
This tool is great for tackling tough moisture after water damage. It allows us to apply direct pressure to a surface, like a carpet, that has soaked up water. The pressure helps draw out the water, making it easier to remove.
Top 3 Types of Water Damage You Should Know About
Water damage can strike without warning and can wreak havoc on your property, leaving you feeling hopeless and overwhelmed. Whether it's from a burst pipe, a severe storm, or an overflowing appliance, your property needs immediate water damage clean-up in Temecula, CA, to prevent further harm. Here are the top three types of water damage you should know about:

Clean Water Damage

This type of water damage happens from a "clean" source, such as rainwater or a broken pipe in your home. It's easier to clean up than others on this list but can still cause extensive property damage when ignored.

Gray Water Damage

Gray water damage stems from appliances such as toilets without feces, washing machines, and dishwashers. Gray water sometimes contains bacteria and contaminants that can make you or your family sick.

Black Water Damage

The name alone indicates the severity of this type of water damage. It's caused by backed-up sewer lines, river flooding, and standing water that supports bacteria growth. Black water presents serious health hazards and needs to be handled by professional water damage contractors.
If you suspect your home or business has been damaged by one or more of the types of water above, take the following steps:

- Be Safe: Turn off all electricity running through your property. Don't go near or touch any water you believe to be contaminated.
- Stop the Source of Water: If you're able, put a stop to the water at its source. That way, you can prevent more damage.
- Call Disaster Response: Contact our water damage company ASAP for water restoration services. Our team is available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.
Our Process for Water Damage Restoration in Temecula, CA
Having a water damage restoration company by your side who knows how to remediate moisture is a key factor in getting your life back on track. At Disaster Response, we have refined our process over 40+ years of water damage clean-up experience. That way, we can provide customers with reliable, comprehensive service when they need it the most.
We utilize powerful pumps and vacuums to eliminate standing water from your property. Swift water removal is essential in minimizing damage and lowering the likelihood of mold growth. Our team is dedicated to ensuring efficient water extraction to prevent any additional complications.
After extracting water from your property, we dry and dehumidify the impacted areas. We use industrial-grade dehumidifiers and air movers to do so to eliminate moisture from walls, floors, and furniture. Proper drying helps prevent warping, swelling, and the growth of mold.
Whenever we deal with water damage, we have to address the potential contaminants and bacteria that can enter your home. We make sure to thoroughly clean and sanitize all affected areas to create a safe living environment. This involves cleaning carpets, upholstery, and personal belongings. Our technicians also use antimicrobial treatments to prevent mold and bacterial growth.
The final step in the process is the restoration of your home to its pre-damage condition. This comprehensive restoration process may encompass a range of tasks, from minor repairs such as replacing drywall and installing new carpeting to major reconstruction efforts. Rest assured that Disaster Response is fully equipped to manage all aspects of water damage restoration, from start to finish.
- Maintenance: Have your business or home's roof, appliances, and plumbing inspected by professionals to spot early signs of wear and tear.
- Water Alarms: If there is a flood or leak in your home, a water alarm can alert you so that you can take action immediately.
- Drainage: Your home needs proper drainage systems in place at all times. To prevent water buildup, be sure to unclog your downspouts and gutters.
- Cracks and Gaps: Be sure to seal up any cracks and gaps in your property's foundation to limit water from getting inside.

TEMECULA, CA — Temecula is invited to Storm Stadium for Temecula Takeover night, the last Saturday in June. Prepare for some minor-league baseball fun, antics, and a purely Southwest Riverside County fun as the mayor takes the mound, throws out the first pitch, and shares Temecula-themed City Spirit jerseys for the Storm players, the city announced.
The event, slated for 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, will feature a showdown against the Modesto Nuts.
Mayor Brenden Kalfus will showcase his baseball skills by throwing out the first pitch of the game, according to a recent news release. This is the second time in recent weeks that Kalfus has done so, the last at the crosstown rivalry game at Temecula Valley High School, as the Golden Bears played the Wolfpack of Great Oak High School.
Kalfus was a varsity baseball player at Temecula Valley High School and played college ball at Saint Mary's College. He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays, where he spent a few seasons in the minors in Vancouver, he told Patch.
"I played two years in Vancouver, a big league city with a minor league team," he recalled, but for Kalfus, Temecula "has been and always will be home."

"As a lifelong baseball fan, I'm beyond excited to throw out the first pitch and celebrate Temecula Takeover Night with all of you," Kalfus said. "Growing up in Temecula, I spent countless hours on the baseball field, and it's an honor to see our city come together and support the Lake Elsinore Storm! Let's fill the diamond and show our city spirit!"
Come out and support the Storm as they take on the Modesto Nuts. Tickets are available for purchase at GoFevo.com/CityofTemecula, for $15 each.

TEMECULA, CA — Habitat For Humanity Inland Valley's ReStore has found a new home and will soon open in the large Rancho Army Navy Store, built and run by the Alvarez family for over 40 years.
It's been several months since the Rancho Army Navy Store, located at 27999 Jefferson Avenue, closed up shop. That building was much more than a place to have scout patches sewn or to buy camping gear. This was once a museum dedicated to the first residents of the Temecula Valley, known as the Frontier Museum.
This was one of the last standing stores of its kind, the owner of the Army-Navy store told Patch.
"You can feel the pulse of our foundation as we have not wavered from our target to deliver the same values and principles that have made us shine bright since day one. We have served generations of family members and see this business as an integral part of this ever-changing community of Temecula and the Inland Valley."
Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley has promised to honor the frontier spirit, preserving the legacy while helping current residents afford little luxuries in the form of home decor, furnishings, appliances and building materials. The new building will offer more space and a broader selection of inventory, according to the Journal.

An exact date for the move from the Temecula ReStore, currently located at 27479 Enterprise Circle West, has not yet been shared.
Tammy Marine, President and CEO of Habitat For Humanity Inland Valley, shared a statement with the Journal about what this means to the region.
"This move allows us to grow while honoring the spirit of community and history that makes Temecula such a special place,” Marine said. “We’re especially proud to carry forward the Alvarez family’s legacy of service and community connection.”

Friday, a column of smoke erupted south of Temecula, choking much of the valley on Saturday. Here's how things stand after the weekend.
TEMECULA, CA — A wildfire that scorched 256 acres near the Pala Casino is 80% contained, all evacuation warnings have been lifted in Riverside and San Diego counties as of Monday morning, Cal Fire announced.
Authorities lifted most evacuation warnings for the Henderson Fire on Sunday morning and the remainder on Monday, according to Cal Fire.
Monday morning, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department thanked the Cal Fire San Diego County, the California Highway Patrol, and law enforcement, firefighting, and first responder partners for their assistance and support during this incident.
"A reminder: fire season is year-round in Southern California. We urge everyone to have their evacuation plans in place and to communicate with their families and neighbors. Sign up for emergency alerts at protect.genasys.com to receive up-to-date information regarding evacuations," they said.
The blaze started shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday off Henderson Road, north of state Route 76 and east of Interstate 15 in San Diego County, Cal Fire reported.
Find out what's happening in Temeculafor free with the latest updates from Patch.
Residents in Temecula watched warily as the smoke rose from the pass, and the fire doubled in size in a matter of 30 minutes.
Cal Fire Capt. Mike Cornette said that, along with firefighters putting in a lot of work, "the weather has helped us out a lot." He said officials were removing some hoses from the fire line.
"We have control line all the way around the fire, which is not expected to grow any more, but we are mitigating any hazards and extinguishing hot spots," Cornette told media outlets.
During the incident, care and reception center was established for Riverside County residents impacted by the fire at Temecula Valley High School, 31555 Rancho Vista Road.
The fire consumed an unoccupied recreational vehicle parked on the 37300 block of Magee Road in Pala, said Cornette, who added that Red Cross assistance has been offered to the owners.
"The aggressive aerial support from fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft has helped slow the fire activity," according to Cal Fire. "Firefighter hand crews and bulldozers are actively constructing control lines around the fire's perimeter to aid in mop-up operations.
"All evacuation orders have been downgraded to warnings, and the zones in Riverside County have returned to normal status."
The northwest-spreading fire grew to 30 acres by 6:59 p.m. Friday as ground crews and personnel aboard air tankers and water-dropping helicopters worked to subdue the blaze, the state agency said.
The fire grew to 200 acres by 9:57 p.m. Friday. It was 15% contained as of Saturday afternoon, and mandatory evacuation orders in San Diego County areas were downgraded to evacuation warnings.

TEMECULA, CA — As work continues on a project to improve the Interstate 15/French Valley Parkway, motorists will need to plan for more road closures this month, the city said.
During the week of June 15, overnight closures for northbound lanes and onramps are scheduled. Detours will be available throughout the work period, which is expected to end on Thursday, June 19.
The project, which was slated to be finished last month, is still in the second phase of construction. As work continues, contractors will be removing K-rail and performing electrical work this week.
When the work is done, the city hopes the project will reduce congestion and improve safety by relieving the I-15/Winchester Road interchange and minimizing weaving movements on I-15 between Winchester Road and the I-15/I-215 Junction.
Here are the scheduled closures:
