What Tools Does Disaster Response Use for Water Damage Clean-Up?

We only use the best equipment! With our extensive experience in the Daytona Beach restoration industry, we've acquired state-of-the-art tools designed to tackle a wide range of challenges. This experience has also allowed our technicians to identify which type of equipment is best for a particular situation. Some of the most common water damage restoration tools we use include:

Infrared

Infrared Cameras

Our infrared cameras give us the ability to see moisture in walls and ceilings that is not visible to the naked eye, almost like having "X-ray" vision. This capability allows us to detect and address trapped and hidden humidity, significantly reducing the risk of mold growth.

Moisture

Moisture Meters

We use moisture meters to measure moisture levels in cellulose material. Before and after the drying process, we will conduct moisture readings in all areas of your property. If we detect moisture in an unaffected area of your building, we'll get to work quickly to dry it.

Air Movers

Air Movers

This equipment is designed to work in conjunction with our dehumidifiers. While our dehumidifiers extract moisture from the air and convert it to a liquid, our Air Mover helps to circulate this moisture in the air so that the dehumidifier can effectively remove it.

Generators

Ozone Generators

These advanced tools enable us to cleanse affected surfaces and the air in a more effective manner. Ozone Generators work by causing oxygen molecules to implode, making them a valuable deodorization tool.

Xtractor

Xtreme Xtractor

This tool is great for tackling tough moisture after water damage. It allows us to apply direct pressure to a surface, like a carpet, that has soaked up water. The pressure helps draw out the water, making it easier to remove.

Top 3 Types of Water Damage You Should Know About

Water damage can strike without warning and can wreak havoc on your property, leaving you feeling hopeless and overwhelmed. Whether it's from a burst pipe, a severe storm, or an overflowing appliance, your property needs immediate water damage clean-up in Daytona Beach, FL, to prevent further harm. Here are the top three types of water damage you should know about:

Clean Water Damage

Clean Water Damage

Clean

This type of water damage happens from a "clean" source, such as rainwater or a broken pipe in your home. It's easier to clean up than others on this list but can still cause extensive property damage when ignored.

Gray Water Damage

Gray Water Damage

Gray-Water

Gray water damage stems from appliances such as toilets without feces, washing machines, and dishwashers. Gray water sometimes contains bacteria and contaminants that can make you or your family sick.

Black Water Damage

Black Water Damage

Black-Water

The name alone indicates the severity of this type of water damage. It's caused by backed-up sewer lines, river flooding, and standing water that supports bacteria growth. Black water presents serious health hazards and needs to be handled by professional water damage contractors.

If you suspect your home or business has been damaged by one or more of the types of water above, take the following steps:

Stop the Source of Water
  • Be Safe: Turn off all electricity running through your property. Don't go near or touch any water you believe to be contaminated.
  • Stop the Source of Water: If you're able, put a stop to the water at its source. That way, you can prevent more damage.
  • Call Disaster Response: Contact our water damage company ASAP for water restoration services. Our team is available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.

Our Process for Water Damage Restoration in Daytona Beach, FL

Having a water damage restoration company by your side who knows how to remediate moisture is a key factor in getting your life back on track. At Disaster Response, we have refined our process over 40+ years of water damage clean-up experience. That way, we can provide customers with reliable, comprehensive service when they need it the most.

We utilize powerful pumps and vacuums to eliminate standing water from your property. Swift water removal is essential in minimizing damage and lowering the likelihood of mold growth. Our team is dedicated to ensuring efficient water extraction to prevent any additional complications.

After extracting water from your property, we dry and dehumidify the impacted areas. We use industrial-grade dehumidifiers and air movers to do so to eliminate moisture from walls, floors, and furniture. Proper drying helps prevent warping, swelling, and the growth of mold.

Whenever we deal with water damage, we have to address the potential contaminants and bacteria that can enter your home. We make sure to thoroughly clean and sanitize all affected areas to create a safe living environment. This involves cleaning carpets, upholstery, and personal belongings. Our technicians also use antimicrobial treatments to prevent mold and bacterial growth.

The final step in the process is the restoration of your home to its pre-damage condition. This comprehensive restoration process may encompass a range of tasks, from minor repairs such as replacing drywall and installing new carpeting to major reconstruction efforts. Rest assured that Disaster Response is fully equipped to manage all aspects of water damage restoration, from start to finish.

  • Maintenance: Have your business or home's roof, appliances, and plumbing inspected by professionals to spot early signs of wear and tear.
  • Water Alarms: If there is a flood or leak in your home, a water alarm can alert you so that you can take action immediately.
  • Drainage: Your home needs proper drainage systems in place at all times. To prevent water buildup, be sure to unclog your downspouts and gutters.
  • Cracks and Gaps: Be sure to seal up any cracks and gaps in your property's foundation to limit water from getting inside.

Florida already has over 50 Sprouts Farmers Market locations — five more are set to open, including the Brevard County location this week, and another is apparently being built.

A “healthy lifestyle” grocery store chain, Sprouts touts fresh, natural, organic products at great prices. A lot of the products there cater to people who live a plant-based, Keto, gluten-free, non-GMO or Paleo diet.

After Sprouts Farmers Market opened its West Melbourne, Florida, location in August 2023, a second Sprouts will open in Melbourne on Friday, March 14, ahead of the St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Other Sprouts sites will open their doors to Florida shoppers over the next few weeks.

And in Daytona Beach, a Sprouts Farmers Market grocery store will be part of the Shoppes at Williamson Crossing, directly across from where site work recently began on a Trader Joe's at Tomoka Town Center and near a new Fresh Market location, The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.

Here’s what we know about Sprouts Farmers Market and Sprouts stores opening in Florida.

The specialty market tries to make healthy living affordable for everyone. The grocery store chain has a signature promotion every Wednesday − Double Ad Wednesdays − in which shoppers get double the products on sale or two ads in one day. Sprouts Farmers Market locations also has "sushi Wednesdays" or freshly made sushi rolls for $5 and up.

Sprouts Farmers Market grocery stores to open in Florida and Colorado. Here’s a list of where

According to Sprouts stores page online, five Sprouts Farmers Market locations will open in Florida and another in Colorado by April 2025. One Sprouts location currently is being built in the Daytona Beach area, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, a USA TODAY NETWORK newspaper.

When Sprouts Farmers Market has a grand opening, shoppers can look forward to giveaways and tastings all weekend. Here’s a list of Sprouts Farmers Market stores opening in Florida and Colorado in March and April 2025:

How many employees work for Sprouts Farmers Market? Is Sprouts grocery store hiring?

Headquartered in Phoenix, it is one of the largest and fastest-growing specialty retailers of fresh, natural and organic food in the United States. It currently has 53 stores in Florida. Sprouts employs about 33,000 team members and operates more than 430 stores in 24 states nationwide.

“The expansion is expected to have a substantial impact on local communities by creating more than 650 jobs across Florida, including positions like clerk level roles, specialty positions, assistant department manager and upper management roles,” according to a Sprouts press release. “The new store openings highlight Sprouts’ mission to invest in local communities and make high-quality and natural foods accessible to families.”

When is launch day for NASA's SpaceX Crew-10 astronauts? A Wednesday, March 12, 2025, launch attempt ended in a scrub minutes before liftoff.

A hydraulic ground issue at launch pad 39A sparked a scrub of Crew-10's Falcon 9, which was scheduled to lift off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Officials announced another try for 7:08 p.m. EDT Friday, March 14 (Pi Day).

SpaceX was targeting 7:48 p.m. EDT Wednesday, March 12, 2025, to launch Crew-10's Falcon 9 rocket from Florida.

On Friday, March 14, crew members will take seats aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule for their journey to the International Space Station, which will set up the return to Earth of Crew-9 — including Boeing Starliner astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams.

After soaring skyward along a northeasterly trajectory, the Falcon 9 first-stage booster will trigger sonic booms in the Space Coast, Florida, area by returning for a landing 7 minutes, 39 seconds after liftoff at nearby Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Cape Canaveral is an hour east of the Orlando theme parks. Depending on cloud cover, weather and visibility, people from Orlando, Daytona Beach to Cocoa Beach and Vero Beach might see a nice streak in the sky — given the proximity to NASA's Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The Space Coast of Florida includes 72 miles of coast, from Mims and Titusville to Melbourne and Grant-Valkaria.

If you're not near Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral or surrounding areas from Florida's Space Coast, you can still see the NASA and SpaceX rocket launch liftoff − virtually. Check back for live Crew-10 USA TODAY Network Space Team launch coverage updates, starting about 3:30 p.m. The NASA+ live webcast begins about 3:45 p.m., and USA TODAY Network's Space Team, based at FLORIDA TODAY on the Space Coast, will have launch coverage for the Crew-10 and a planned SpaceX Starlink mission.

What time is NASA SpaceX Crew-10 launch from Florida?

NASA’s SpaceX Crew-10 crew members will launch for a long-duration stay aboard the International Space Station on a Falcon 9 rocket. An initial attempt at 7:48 p.m. EDT Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from launch pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida was scrubbed minutes before liftoff. Another attempt will be at 7:08 p.m. EDT Friday, March 14, 2025. For those on the Space Coast of Florida (Brevard County, home of Melbourne, Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island, Titusville), there will be sonic booms. The launch trajectory will be northeast. Live FLORIDA TODAY Space Team coverage will start two hours before launch at floridatoday.com/space.

Can a rocket launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center or Cape Canaveral, Florida, be seen outside of Florida? Weather permitting and depending on cloud cover, yes. For example, readers have submitted photos or posted on social platforms pictures of Falcon Heavy, which is made up of three Falcon 9 rocket first stages, visible from Myrtle Beach.

Will it rain in Melbourne, Cocoa Beach or Cape Canaveral, Florida, today? Will weather cancel a rocket launch?

Shown is the National Weather Service-Melbourne radar, which shows conditions in real-time for the Space Coast and other parts of Florida.
