What Tools Does Disaster Response Use for Water Damage Clean-Up?
We only use the best equipment! With our extensive experience in the Nashville restoration industry, we've acquired state-of-the-art tools designed to tackle a wide range of challenges. This experience has also allowed our technicians to identify which type of equipment is best for a particular situation. Some of the most common water damage restoration tools we use include:

Infrared Cameras
Our infrared cameras give us the ability to see moisture in walls and ceilings that is not visible to the naked eye, almost like having "X-ray" vision. This capability allows us to detect and address trapped and hidden humidity, significantly reducing the risk of mold growth.

Moisture Meters
We use moisture meters to measure moisture levels in cellulose material. Before and after the drying process, we will conduct moisture readings in all areas of your property. If we detect moisture in an unaffected area of your building, we'll get to work quickly to dry it.

Air Movers
This equipment is designed to work in conjunction with our dehumidifiers. While our dehumidifiers extract moisture from the air and convert it to a liquid, our Air Mover helps to circulate this moisture in the air so that the dehumidifier can effectively remove it.

Ozone Generators
These advanced tools enable us to cleanse affected surfaces and the air in a more effective manner. Ozone Generators work by causing oxygen molecules to implode, making them a valuable deodorization tool.

Xtreme Xtractor
This tool is great for tackling tough moisture after water damage. It allows us to apply direct pressure to a surface, like a carpet, that has soaked up water. The pressure helps draw out the water, making it easier to remove.
Top 3 Types of Water Damage You Should Know About
Water damage can strike without warning and can wreak havoc on your property, leaving you feeling hopeless and overwhelmed. Whether it's from a burst pipe, a severe storm, or an overflowing appliance, your property needs immediate water damage clean-up in Nashville, TN, to prevent further harm. Here are the top three types of water damage you should know about:

Clean Water Damage

This type of water damage happens from a "clean" source, such as rainwater or a broken pipe in your home. It's easier to clean up than others on this list but can still cause extensive property damage when ignored.

Gray Water Damage

Gray water damage stems from appliances such as toilets without feces, washing machines, and dishwashers. Gray water sometimes contains bacteria and contaminants that can make you or your family sick.

Black Water Damage

The name alone indicates the severity of this type of water damage. It's caused by backed-up sewer lines, river flooding, and standing water that supports bacteria growth. Black water presents serious health hazards and needs to be handled by professional water damage contractors.
If you suspect your home or business has been damaged by one or more of the types of water above, take the following steps:

- Be Safe: Turn off all electricity running through your property. Don't go near or touch any water you believe to be contaminated.
- Stop the Source of Water: If you're able, put a stop to the water at its source. That way, you can prevent more damage.
- Call Disaster Response: Contact our water damage company ASAP for water restoration services. Our team is available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.
Our Process for Water Damage Restoration in Nashville, TN
Having a water damage restoration company by your side who knows how to remediate moisture is a key factor in getting your life back on track. At Disaster Response, we have refined our process over 40+ years of water damage clean-up experience. That way, we can provide customers with reliable, comprehensive service when they need it the most.
We utilize powerful pumps and vacuums to eliminate standing water from your property. Swift water removal is essential in minimizing damage and lowering the likelihood of mold growth. Our team is dedicated to ensuring efficient water extraction to prevent any additional complications.
After extracting water from your property, we dry and dehumidify the impacted areas. We use industrial-grade dehumidifiers and air movers to do so to eliminate moisture from walls, floors, and furniture. Proper drying helps prevent warping, swelling, and the growth of mold.
Whenever we deal with water damage, we have to address the potential contaminants and bacteria that can enter your home. We make sure to thoroughly clean and sanitize all affected areas to create a safe living environment. This involves cleaning carpets, upholstery, and personal belongings. Our technicians also use antimicrobial treatments to prevent mold and bacterial growth.
The final step in the process is the restoration of your home to its pre-damage condition. This comprehensive restoration process may encompass a range of tasks, from minor repairs such as replacing drywall and installing new carpeting to major reconstruction efforts. Rest assured that Disaster Response is fully equipped to manage all aspects of water damage restoration, from start to finish.
- Maintenance: Have your business or home's roof, appliances, and plumbing inspected by professionals to spot early signs of wear and tear.
- Water Alarms: If there is a flood or leak in your home, a water alarm can alert you so that you can take action immediately.
- Drainage: Your home needs proper drainage systems in place at all times. To prevent water buildup, be sure to unclog your downspouts and gutters.
- Cracks and Gaps: Be sure to seal up any cracks and gaps in your property's foundation to limit water from getting inside.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A pet zebra has been missing for four days now out of Christiana, Tennessee. Tuesday, search crews showed WSMV4’s Courtney Allen how they’re trying to track the zebra down and bring him home.
A thermal drone has covered thousands of acres over the past few days for the pet zebra. It was spotted in a Christiana neighborhood, running along roads and on the side of Interstate 24, after his owner reported him missing Saturday.
“I truly think he is still close to this area,” Branson Wells said.
Wells with Volunteer Drone Services said he is working with the zebra’s owner to find the animal free of charge.
“In our thought process, this zebra has been avoiding people,” Wells said. “He is most likely in an area that does not get a whole lot of attention or eyes in the area where he can hide very well.”
Zebras are known to feed on grass, which is plentiful in the area. The zebra’s owner told WSMV4 on Monday that he hopes he has found a body of water.
“There are multiple ponds and rivers,” Wells said. “I have flown very low to the ground to see up under the trees, around the river banks and stuff like that.”
Wells is in the business of pet recovery, usually looking for dogs, cats or even cattle. This is his first zebra.
“We don’t really know what they are capable of, and everything, but my biggest worry is him injuring a family driving down the road.”
If he finds him, Wells said there are teams that could tranquilize the animal.
“Either that or getting in some cowboys and possibly rope this zebra in, but that would be completely up to the owner at that point,” Wells said. “We are just trying to figure out the best way possible and safest way possible to bring him back home.”
There is a K9 search scheduled for Tuesday night for the zebra. If you see him, be sure to call the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee Titans’ rookie class spent Friday at a youth football camp teaching kids football fundamentals.
The camp, held at Christ Presbyterian Academy, signed autographs and took pictures with more than 100 kids Friday.
???? TITAN UP all season long with the latest news and notes on the Tennessee Titans
“When I was young — it didn’t matter if you were an undrafted pick or first-round pick or even anything,” safety Kevin Winston Jr. said. “You looked like a superhero to me because you were playing the sport I loved at a high level. It’s good to be able to do that for them and show them I’m just like them.”
Wide receiver Chimere Dike did not have a similar camp growing up. He told News 2 that it was eye-opening when one camper asked for his autograph.
“It’s pretty cool — just being in that position when you’re younger and now you’re in a position where people are asking you,” Dike said. “I think it’s awesome, but it’s also humbling. It comes with the responsibility of having to uphold that standard that they’re looking at.”

But no player received more attention than quarterback Cam Ward, who threw touchdown passes to several different kids.
While attendees are learning the basics of football, they still have high expectations for Ward and the Titans.

Nashville, TN (June 5, 2025) – A crash with injuries occurred at Exit 44B on I-24 East, where it merges with northbound I-65 toward Louisville, around 11:39 PM. Emergency responders were quick to the scene, providing care to the injured victims. Several individuals were treated at the site for a variety of injuries and some were transported to local hospitals for further care. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. Our thoughts are with those affected by this crash.
The crash led to significant traffic disruptions as authorities worked to clear the scene and restore normal flow. The complex interchange connecting I-24 East and northbound I-65 is a critical area, and such incidents can cause considerable delays during late-night hours. Drivers in the area were advised to find alternate routes to avoid the blocked lanes. As the investigation continues, local authorities are emphasizing the need for caution when traveling through this area, especially during periods of reduced visibility.
Injury Crashes in Tennessee
Injury crashes involving multiple vehicles are a significant concern in Tennessee, particularly in urban areas like Nashville where high-speed roadways intersect with heavy commuter traffic. The interchange at Exit 44B, where I-24 East merges with northbound I-65, is a critical connection point for local and interstate travel, making it a high-risk area for collisions. Accidents at such interchanges often result from high traffic volumes, complex merging patterns, and driver inattention.
According to data from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, interchanges and ramps are common sites for injury crashes due to their complex traffic movements and limited reaction time for drivers. When collisions occur during peak hours, the risk of secondary incidents and widespread traffic delays also increases. In this instance, the crash caused significant traffic delays as emergency crews worked to clear the scene and conduct an investigation.
For residents of Nashville and other urban areas, it’s crucial to practice defensive driving and stay alert, especially when navigating complex interchanges. Understanding the risks associated with high-speed roadways and taking proactive measures can help reduce the likelihood of being involved in a collision.
If you or someone you know has been injured in a vehicle crash, it’s important to understand your rights and the steps to take afterward. Seeking legal guidance can help ensure that victims receive fair compensation for their injuries and navigate the complexities of insurance claims and legal processes.

Urban Highway Collisions and Evening Traffic Risks in Tennessee
Crashes on interstates like I-440 are a persistent concern in Nashville, particularly near busy exits like West End Ave. This section of the city experiences a high concentration of both local and through traffic, especially during the evening hours when drivers may be fatigued or in a rush to reach their destinations.
Evening collisions, such as this 8:16 p.m. incident, often involve factors like diminished daylight, heavy merging traffic, or distracted driving. In Tennessee, recent data shows a steady increase in injury accidents during evening commutes, with Nashville accounting for a sizable share due to its urban density and fast-growing road network.
The West End Ave exit in Midtown is known for its complex traffic patterns, with frequent lane changes and sudden braking. These conditions make it critical for drivers to stay alert and maintain safe distances. Crashes in these zones can cause ripple effects across the surrounding highway system, affecting not just those involved but also the broader traffic flow.
Following any injury crash, especially on major roadways, it’s essential to seek prompt medical evaluation and consult with professionals to ensure one’s health, legal rights, and insurance claims are properly addressed.
