St. Petersburg, Florida-based commercial real estate firm The Sembler Company announced the partial opening of White House Shops, a new retail center near the city’s main thoroughfare.

The Publix Super Market-anchored retail center opened at 88% leased, according to a company release.
Publix, a southeastern grocery store chain, opened in late November at White House Shops. It's the 21st location to open in the Nashville market, 59th to open in Tennessee and features 48,387 square feet.
“Our longtime partnership with Publix has enabled us to bring premier grocery options to dozens of communities throughout the Southeast,” Sembler Senior Vice President of Development Josh Beyer said in the release.
“White House is a rapidly growing suburb in the Nashville MSA, and as more rooftops appear, so will an increased demand for more grocery and necessity retail options. White House Shops brings this thriving community’s first Publix.”
The White House Shops are located at the intersection of Raymond Hirsch Pkwy and TN-76, half a mile from a new freestanding emergency room.
A proposal to build a freestanding emergency room in White House was approved by state health officials in recent weeks, TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center announced in an earlier release.

The Tennessee Health Facilities Commission, an independent state agency established during the 2022 legislative session, approved the proposal for a new freestanding emergency room at the intersection of Raymond Hirsch Parkway and Highway 31W, featuring 11 treatment and exam rooms, a trauma room and more.
Which new shops are coming in 2025?
The White House Shops retail center brings nearly 75,000 square feet of retail, restaurants and service amenities to White House, a city situated in both Robertson and Sumner Counties about 30 minutes north of Nashville.
The retail center serves a community of more than 44,000 consumers, the release said, and sits near TN-76, a busy commercial drag where nearly 32,000 vehicles travel each day.
“There are more than a dozen active residential communities in White House bringing thousands of new residents to the area. Retailers and restaurants are eager to open new locations to service this growing population,” Beyer said.

In addition to its anchor tenant Publix, several other shops are expected to begin opening early next year including:
Two leases are currently pending.
About 5,800 square feet of storefronts remain available.
Five storefronts are available for lease including one 1,000 square foot space and four 1,200 square foot spaces next to Publix, the release noted.
A 1.78-acre outparcel and 0.43-acre development pad are also available for lease with access to retail center entrances on TN-76 and Raymond Hirsch Parkway.

Michael Saylor took his Bitcoin evangelism to the White House on Friday, presenting his roadmap to an $81 trillion digital asset strategy at the administration’s first-ever crypto summit.
His plan calls for the US to embrace Bitcoin as a strategic national asset, which he claims will help bolster the dollar, reduce national debt, and establish economic dominance.
Saylor’s proposal aligns with President Donald Trump’s executive order signed Thursday, which converts $17 billion in seized Bitcoin holdings into a strategic reserve and bans federal agencies from selling these Bitcoins.
“From this day on, America will follow the rule that every Bitcoiner knows very well: never sell your Bitcoin,” Trump said.
Saylor argues that Bitcoin should be the foundation of a revamped US financial system that integrates digital tokens, securities, and currencies.
He sees Bitcoin’s role as a digital commodity, attracting global capital flows and establishing the US as the financial epicenter of the 21st century.
His vision includes programmatic government Bitcoin purchases, potentially securing up to 25% of the network by 2035.
To reach his $81 trillion projection, Bitcoin would need to surpass $15 million per coin, a valuation exponentially higher than today’s prices.
In December, Saylor predicted that in this scenario, the digital asset market would expand to $280 trillion — around 100 times its current size — but provided no specifics on how he arrived at these figures.
Despite growing support, some investors expected more aggressive policy changes from the summit.
Still, Saylor remains steadfast in saying that the United States has a chance to “dominate cyberspace and own the future.”

So many small towns outside of Nashville have seen rapid growth in recent years, and White House, just north of the city, is no exception.
WHITE HOUSE, Tenn. (WTVF) — So many small towns outside of Nashville have seen rapid growth in recent years, and White House, just north of the city, is no exception.
But has it grown too much, too fast? The mayor has put a temporary pause on development until the city’s infrastructure can catch up.
White House Mayor John Corbitt is working to address long-standing flooding issues.
“It clogged up with debris, and unless it’s cleaned up, the water running in doesn’t have anywhere to go,” Corbitt said.
Flooding has been a problem in new residential developments, including Dorris Farms.
“That’s damage from water,” Corbitt said.
Last week’s heavy rain caused significant issues for homeowners.
“The board, mayor and aldermen at the time — that’s something they should’ve looked at — and some of these infrastructure projects we’re now having to do, they should’ve said, ‘Hey developer, if you want to come, that’s fine, but we’ll have to take care of these things first on the front hand,’” Mayor Corbitt said.
Runoff from new developments has led to flooding in nearby homes.
One homeowner pleaded with the planning commission for help, saying their yard and garage flood constantly.
“Where do we need to go from here? We’re to the point where we’re so frustrated,” the homeowner said during a recent meeting.
Mayor Corbitt said he understands their frustration.
“We’re not happy about it. The expectations are set, and when they’re not met, it’s not good,” he said.
Before becoming mayor two years ago, Corbitt voted against some of these projects when he was an alderman. He was concerned the city was growing too fast.
“We’re trying to recover from all those developments that were previously approved. We’ve got roadwork, a new sewer plant, and stormwater projects to help mitigate some of the issues caused by the big developers,” he said.
To prevent further issues, Corbitt recently issued a stop-work order on construction.
“Where the deficiencies are … get them to fix those things, and then we can let them come back to work,” he said.
Corbitt, who has lived in White House for 20 years, said he wants to make sure both people and property are protected.
“We understand the issues, and we’re working very hard to make sure it doesn’t happen again,” he said.
The mayor said developers have been following the work order. Right now, they are only allowed to work on stormwater runoff solutions.

Construction is expected to begin this spring on a recently approved freestanding emergency room at the intersection of Raymond Hirsch Parkway and Highway 31W in White House.
The estimated cost to build the roughly 12,760-square-foot facility is $18.6 million, TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center CEO Justin Coury said. He said he expects the TriStar White House Emergency Room to be completed by early 2026 and create about 30 jobs for the area.
In order to build the facility, TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center had to gain approval for the project from state health officials, the hospital announced in an earlier news release.
The Tennessee Health Facilities Commission, an independent state agency established during the 2022 legislative session, approved the proposal in October.
Plans for the facility include 11 treatment and exam rooms, a trauma room, an imaging department, nursing station and support space.
TriStar officials have noted a need for access to emergency care in White House as residents there are about 25-35 minutes away from the nearest emergency care facility.
Freestanding emergency rooms are similar to hospital-based emergency rooms in that they can treat heart attacks, strokes, broken bones and other emergencies. The only difference is that it isn't connected to a hospital.
The planned location of the White House facility was chosen because it marks a central location that is easily accessible to residents in the area, the hospital's release noted.
Highway 31W is the border separating Robertson and Sumner counties, with White House split between the two.

The Hendersonville-based medical center is building on more than 40 years of service in Robertson and Sumner counties with this new project, hospital officials noted.
