What Tools Does Disaster Response Use for Water Damage Clean-Up?
We only use the best equipment! With our extensive experience in the Chandler restoration industry, we've acquired state-of-the-art tools designed to tackle a wide range of challenges. This experience has also allowed our technicians to identify which type of equipment is best for a particular situation. Some of the most common water damage restoration tools we use include:
Infrared Cameras
Our infrared cameras give us the ability to see moisture in walls and ceilings that is not visible to the naked eye, almost like having "X-ray" vision. This capability allows us to detect and address trapped and hidden humidity, significantly reducing the risk of mold growth.
Moisture Meters
We use moisture meters to measure moisture levels in cellulose material. Before and after the drying process, we will conduct moisture readings in all areas of your property. If we detect moisture in an unaffected area of your building, we'll get to work quickly to dry it.
Air Movers
This equipment is designed to work in conjunction with our dehumidifiers. While our dehumidifiers extract moisture from the air and convert it to a liquid, our Air Mover helps to circulate this moisture in the air so that the dehumidifier can effectively remove it.
Ozone Generators
These advanced tools enable us to cleanse affected surfaces and the air in a more effective manner. Ozone Generators work by causing oxygen molecules to implode, making them a valuable deodorization tool.
Xtreme Xtractor
This tool is great for tackling tough moisture after water damage. It allows us to apply direct pressure to a surface, like a carpet, that has soaked up water. The pressure helps draw out the water, making it easier to remove.
Top 3 Types of Water Damage You Should Know About
Water damage can strike without warning and can wreak havoc on your property, leaving you feeling hopeless and overwhelmed. Whether it's from a burst pipe, a severe storm, or an overflowing appliance, your property needs immediate water damage clean-up in Chandler, AZ, to prevent further harm. Here are the top three types of water damage you should know about:
Clean Water Damage
This type of water damage happens from a "clean" source, such as rainwater or a broken pipe in your home. It's easier to clean up than others on this list but can still cause extensive property damage when ignored.
Gray Water Damage
Gray water damage stems from appliances such as toilets without feces, washing machines, and dishwashers. Gray water sometimes contains bacteria and contaminants that can make you or your family sick.
Black Water Damage
The name alone indicates the severity of this type of water damage. It's caused by backed-up sewer lines, river flooding, and standing water that supports bacteria growth. Black water presents serious health hazards and needs to be handled by professional water damage contractors.
If you suspect your home or business has been damaged by one or more of the types of water above, take the following steps:
- Be Safe: Turn off all electricity running through your property. Don't go near or touch any water you believe to be contaminated.
- Stop the Source of Water: If you're able, put a stop to the water at its source. That way, you can prevent more damage.
- Call Disaster Response: Contact our water damage company ASAP for water restoration services. Our team is available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.
Our Process for Water Damage Restoration in Chandler, AZ
Having a water damage restoration company by your side who knows how to remediate moisture is a key factor in getting your life back on track. At Disaster Response, we have refined our process over 40+ years of water damage clean-up experience. That way, we can provide customers with reliable, comprehensive service when they need it the most.
We utilize powerful pumps and vacuums to eliminate standing water from your property. Swift water removal is essential in minimizing damage and lowering the likelihood of mold growth. Our team is dedicated to ensuring efficient water extraction to prevent any additional complications.
After extracting water from your property, we dry and dehumidify the impacted areas. We use industrial-grade dehumidifiers and air movers to do so to eliminate moisture from walls, floors, and furniture. Proper drying helps prevent warping, swelling, and the growth of mold.
Whenever we deal with water damage, we have to address the potential contaminants and bacteria that can enter your home. We make sure to thoroughly clean and sanitize all affected areas to create a safe living environment. This involves cleaning carpets, upholstery, and personal belongings. Our technicians also use antimicrobial treatments to prevent mold and bacterial growth.
The final step in the process is the restoration of your home to its pre-damage condition. This comprehensive restoration process may encompass a range of tasks, from minor repairs such as replacing drywall and installing new carpeting to major reconstruction efforts. Rest assured that Disaster Response is fully equipped to manage all aspects of water damage restoration, from start to finish.
- Maintenance: Have your business or home's roof, appliances, and plumbing inspected by professionals to spot early signs of wear and tear.
- Water Alarms: If there is a flood or leak in your home, a water alarm can alert you so that you can take action immediately.
- Drainage: Your home needs proper drainage systems in place at all times. To prevent water buildup, be sure to unclog your downspouts and gutters.
- Cracks and Gaps: Be sure to seal up any cracks and gaps in your property's foundation to limit water from getting inside.

Scheduled to open in January, George & Gather is the first-ever restaurant by longtime Chandler residents, Amber and Mike Kovarik, who previously worked in the real estate and food service industries, respectively. “Food is my love language and I’m so excited to bring a vibey hangout spot serving food made with clean ingredients to the city I’ve lived and worked in for almost 20 years. I believe our community is craving a place like this,” Amber says. “So when Mike spotted this rundown former auto repair shop, we knew with a lot of hard work and thoughtful restoration, it had potential to transform into a spectacular community gathering place.” Downtown Chandler has come a long way over the past two decades, and we feel this is the next step to transforming the area into a thriving dining hub.”
Built around a 100% from-scratch kitchen, G&G serves chef-crafted fare made with clean, local and organic ingredients, and no seed oils. Plus enjoy a full menu of seasonal craft cocktails, and elevated mocktails, at the 18-person indoor-outdoor bar featuring a roll-up glass garage door.
Inspired by The Great Gatsby, the Art Deco-style décor is brimming with rich walnut woods, striking stylized tile-work and glimmering brass fixtures, all situated beneath a restored vintage ceiling. Formerly Doug’s Radiator & Muffler and before that Dano’s Auto Shop. The owners stripped away decades of patchwork repairs and the Pepto Bismol colored paint to reveal a striking mid-century modern structure, and replaced an entire wall with roll-away glass sliders to create an enchanting alfresco appeal. Grab a spot at the marble-topped community table, or cozy up in one of the intimate banquette booths, and watch your dinner prepared in sight at the gleaming exhibition-style kitchen.

TEMPE, Ariz. — Microchip Technology Incorporated announced Monday the company plans to shut down its manufacturing facility in Tempe.
The company's leaders said "certain actions are necessary" after examining Microchip's operations that will result in a restructuring of the company's manufacturing plans.
The process technologies run at the Tempe facility, referred to as Fab 2, are also run at Microchip's Oregon and Colorado facilities, which both have space for expansion.
"We expect to be able to shut down Fab 2 in the September 2025 quarter at which time we expect that it will generate annual cash savings of approximately $90 million," Microchip CEO Steve Sanghi said in a statement on Monday.
Located a few miles from Microchip's corporate office in Chandler, the Fab 2 currently produces 8-inch wafers for the tech company.
In January, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced a preliminary deal to provide $162 million in federal incentives for Microchip Technology to expand its facilities in Oregon and Colorado.

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Friends of Chandler Public Library announces the launch of the Season of Friendship Giving Campaign, which aims to fund innovative programs and resources for Chandler Public Library (CPL). Celebrating the important work of the Friends, Season of Friendship invites those who wish to strengthen and support library services in Chandler to give a gift in support of literacy this holiday season.
Friends of Chandler Public Library is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the library through the tireless efforts of volunteers, and the generosity of individual and corporate donors. The Friends support many library programs and resources available to the Chandler community, including STEAM and literacy programs, digital resources like LinkedIn Learning and so much more. The Friends recently approved an investment of $240,000 in support of CPL, including $135,000 toward the CPL mobile outreach vehicle, which will serve the community in 2025 as the city’s fifth library branch.
The Season of Friendship campaign kickoff coincides with National Friends of Libraries Week (now through Oct. 26). It reflects the spirit of giving during the holiday season, bringing awareness to how community members can support the Friends and, in turn, their local library.
“The Friends support many of the important programs and services at Chandler Public Library,” says Tara Anglin, CPL community engagement manager. “Whether it is an adult attending a speaker series or a first grader getting help with their reading, the Friends are the unsung heroes. The generous support from community members through used book sales and individual and corporate gifts facilitate the active role the Friends have in our libraries. The work they do is key to our success in meeting the needs of our community. Our libraries are stronger because of the Friends and the gifts they share.”
Community members wishing to make a gift in support of literacy during this Season of Friendship may donate directly to the Friends of Chandler Public Library either online or in person at any of the four Chandler Library locations.
“Our libraries are more than places to find books – they are the heartbeat of our community,” says Rachelle Kuzyk, Chandler Public Library manager. “Libraries serve as a place to connect with one another and discover avenues for life-long learning. We are grateful for the support of our community and the Friends to maintain a diverse collection of books, programs and resources.”
During this Season of Friendship, and throughout the year, the community is invited to attend free programs available at CPL locations, many supported by the Friends of Chandler Public Library, like these:
