It's possible Election Day will not be too busy as Boone County residents actively have participated in no-excuse absentee voting in the previous two weeks. Social media postings have indicated average wait times to vote of 45 minutes at the Boone County Government Center.
What do I need to vote in Missouri?
Missouri law requires voters to show a valid government-issued photo ID from the state of Missouri or the federal government, such as a driver's license, passport or military ID.
If you don't have identification but are registered to vote, you can cast a provisional ballot. Your vote will count if the signature on your provisional ballot matches your signature in the voter registry, or if you come back to your polling place on Election Day and show a valid photo ID.
When do polls open on Election Day in Missouri?

What about absentee voting?
No-excuse in-person absentee voting is currently in effect, which means that anyone can vote an absentee ballot in person without having to provide a reason why they're casting an absentee ballot. The last day to vote no-excuse absentee is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the Boone County Government Center.
The deadline for requesting absentee ballots by mail has passed. Mailed ballots must be voted, notarized, returned by mail and received in the clerk's office before 7 p.m. Nov. 5.

A long-running rumor in social media spheres is becoming a reality in Columbia as a Trader Joe's public relations manager has confirmed a location is coming to the city.
While other media sources have reported a specific location in Columbia, Nakia Rohde, with Trader Joe's wrote in a message to the Tribune that she does not yet have a location or timeline to confirm. Coming soon listings on the grocery chain's website don't yet include Columbia.

It has been something of a longstanding joke in Columbia, especially on social media, that any time there was new commercial construction in the city it was for a Trader Joe's. There also are countless posts asking if Columbia ever would get one.
Postings on social media were excited to mixed about the eventual addition to the city's grocery market. Columbia is home to three Schnuck's, three Hy-Vees, three Aldis, three Moser's Foods, and two Gerbes locations for general grocery shopping. There also are more specialty grocery stores, such as Natural Grocers and Columbia founded Clover's Natural Market, along with several international grocery shops in Columbia.
Social media postings made comparisons of Trader Joe's to Aldi, as Trader Joe's is under the Aldi Nord umbrella but is its own unique operation. The Aldi chain in the U.S. is under a separate company umbrella of Aldi Sud.
Trader Joe's originally was founded in South Pasadena, California, in 1967. It was bought by Aldi Nord 12 years later. There now are upward of 560 locations throughout the U.S.
The grocery chain is known for its private labeling of a variety of packaged food items and even alcohol, depending on location, that is comparable to other name-brand products. Trader Joe's labeled items also regularly fluctuate in availability depending on sales or the season.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch in January will stop using its current presses to print the daily newspaper and will outsource printing to a facility in Columbia, Missouri.
This will, of course, represent a big change for the newspaper, which has been printed in St. Louis throughout its 146-year history. It’s not a decision our company made lightly but comes at a time when reading habits continue to shift to digital platforms.
The move, to take effect in early January, means the presses at our Maryland Heights building will be shuttered. In all, 72 employees — 48 full-timers and 24-part-timers — will no longer be employed at the newspaper. Printing will shift to the Columbia facility, owned by another newspaper company, Gannett, with the papers trucked to St. Louis for local delivery.
What does it mean for subscribers? The Post-Dispatch will still publish seven days a week, and you will not see a change in your delivery times. The print edition is not going away.
The move will result in earlier deadlines for news coverage, which will affect late-breaking coverage in print, especially sports. Our coverage of Cardinals NIGHT games, for example, will not appear in the next day’s sports section.
But the print edition will still feature our array of columns, analysis, features and enterprise journalism. We remain committed to producing a strong print edition, with the same range of comics and puzzles you now enjoy.
And for the latest breaking news and sports coverage, of course, you can turn to our website, stltoday.com, and our mobile app. Our digital products and social media channels will continue to provide the latest coverage, in real time, so you don’t miss any news.
Most print subscribers get full digital access, including our E-edition, an electronic replica of the newspaper, and extra comics. You just need to activate a digital account. You can do so by going to stltoday.com/activate or calling 866-735-5631.
The decision to move printing is not a unique one. Newspapers across the country have made similar decisions over the past several years as the industry looks to operate more efficiently and continue transitioning to digital platforms. Newspapers in major cities near St. Louis — including Kansas City, Memphis and Louisville — are all printed in other areas.
While outsourcing our printing will result in cost savings, it will also allow us to keep delivering on our mission: to provide you with enlightening, hard-hitting news coverage and great storytelling. We’re still committed to first-rate journalism and the standards set by our founder, Joseph Pulitzer. We’re still committed to the St. Louis region, to serving this community and to telling your stories.
