What Tools Does Disaster Response Use for Water Damage Clean-Up?
We only use the best equipment! With our extensive experience in the Goodyear restoration industry, we've acquired state-of-the-art tools designed to tackle a wide range of challenges. This experience has also allowed our technicians to identify which type of equipment is best for a particular situation. Some of the most common water damage restoration tools we use include:
Infrared Cameras
Our infrared cameras give us the ability to see moisture in walls and ceilings that is not visible to the naked eye, almost like having "X-ray" vision. This capability allows us to detect and address trapped and hidden humidity, significantly reducing the risk of mold growth.
Moisture Meters
We use moisture meters to measure moisture levels in cellulose material. Before and after the drying process, we will conduct moisture readings in all areas of your property. If we detect moisture in an unaffected area of your building, we'll get to work quickly to dry it.
Air Movers
This equipment is designed to work in conjunction with our dehumidifiers. While our dehumidifiers extract moisture from the air and convert it to a liquid, our Air Mover helps to circulate this moisture in the air so that the dehumidifier can effectively remove it.
Ozone Generators
These advanced tools enable us to cleanse affected surfaces and the air in a more effective manner. Ozone Generators work by causing oxygen molecules to implode, making them a valuable deodorization tool.
Xtreme Xtractor
This tool is great for tackling tough moisture after water damage. It allows us to apply direct pressure to a surface, like a carpet, that has soaked up water. The pressure helps draw out the water, making it easier to remove.
Top 3 Types of Water Damage You Should Know About
Water damage can strike without warning and can wreak havoc on your property, leaving you feeling hopeless and overwhelmed. Whether it's from a burst pipe, a severe storm, or an overflowing appliance, your property needs immediate water damage clean-up in Goodyear, AZ, to prevent further harm. Here are the top three types of water damage you should know about:
Clean Water Damage
This type of water damage happens from a "clean" source, such as rainwater or a broken pipe in your home. It's easier to clean up than others on this list but can still cause extensive property damage when ignored.
Gray Water Damage
Gray water damage stems from appliances such as toilets without feces, washing machines, and dishwashers. Gray water sometimes contains bacteria and contaminants that can make you or your family sick.
Black Water Damage
The name alone indicates the severity of this type of water damage. It's caused by backed-up sewer lines, river flooding, and standing water that supports bacteria growth. Black water presents serious health hazards and needs to be handled by professional water damage contractors.
If you suspect your home or business has been damaged by one or more of the types of water above, take the following steps:
- Be Safe: Turn off all electricity running through your property. Don't go near or touch any water you believe to be contaminated.
- Stop the Source of Water: If you're able, put a stop to the water at its source. That way, you can prevent more damage.
- Call Disaster Response: Contact our water damage company ASAP for water restoration services. Our team is available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.
Our Process for Water Damage Restoration in Goodyear, AZ
Having a water damage restoration company by your side who knows how to remediate moisture is a key factor in getting your life back on track. At Disaster Response, we have refined our process over 40+ years of water damage clean-up experience. That way, we can provide customers with reliable, comprehensive service when they need it the most.
We utilize powerful pumps and vacuums to eliminate standing water from your property. Swift water removal is essential in minimizing damage and lowering the likelihood of mold growth. Our team is dedicated to ensuring efficient water extraction to prevent any additional complications.
After extracting water from your property, we dry and dehumidify the impacted areas. We use industrial-grade dehumidifiers and air movers to do so to eliminate moisture from walls, floors, and furniture. Proper drying helps prevent warping, swelling, and the growth of mold.
Whenever we deal with water damage, we have to address the potential contaminants and bacteria that can enter your home. We make sure to thoroughly clean and sanitize all affected areas to create a safe living environment. This involves cleaning carpets, upholstery, and personal belongings. Our technicians also use antimicrobial treatments to prevent mold and bacterial growth.
The final step in the process is the restoration of your home to its pre-damage condition. This comprehensive restoration process may encompass a range of tasks, from minor repairs such as replacing drywall and installing new carpeting to major reconstruction efforts. Rest assured that Disaster Response is fully equipped to manage all aspects of water damage restoration, from start to finish.
- Maintenance: Have your business or home's roof, appliances, and plumbing inspected by professionals to spot early signs of wear and tear.
- Water Alarms: If there is a flood or leak in your home, a water alarm can alert you so that you can take action immediately.
- Drainage: Your home needs proper drainage systems in place at all times. To prevent water buildup, be sure to unclog your downspouts and gutters.
- Cracks and Gaps: Be sure to seal up any cracks and gaps in your property's foundation to limit water from getting inside.

A bold coyote relentlessly chased a woman and her dog around Bullard Wash Park in Goodyear on Wednesday.
GOODYEAR, Ariz. — It's not unusual for Andrea Eagle to see coyotes while walking her dog in Goodyear.
The coyote the pair encountered on Wednesday morning, however, was unusual.
“There was a gentleman down the path that had told me, ‘Hey, the coyotes are out in the wash this morning,’ and I said, ‘Oh, they always run away from Dae. No big deal,’ and I really thought it was no big deal," Eagle said.
Eagle recorded video of a bold coyote that approached her and her dog, Dae, and would not leave them alone.
“It was literally relentless, following around, circling around us," Eagle said. "I was yelling at it, hollering. It wouldn’t stop.”
Eagle shared the video on Facebook to warn others of the bold behavior.
Some people commented that the coyote seemed playful, but Eagle said it was anything but.
“I don’t know if there was something wrong with it or why was it being so aggressive towards Dae, especially because he’s so big," Eagle said.
Arizona Game and Fish warns people should never ignore coyotes if they seem them in their neighborhoods, because the animal could lose its natural fear of humans and display bold behavior.
The agency recommends people scare coyotes away by making loud noises and keeping eye contact.
Eagle said she repeatedly tried this, but it didn't work.
Arizona Game and Fish said using a repellent may work on bold animals that refuse to leave — something Eagle said she wished she had with her at the time.
“I have pepper spray, a body alarm and then I ordered an air horn and I’ll have all of that on me every time I leave the house no matter when or where," Eagle said.
Eagle and Dae eventually were able to escape with the help of another man in the park.
“We see a lot of things around here and this is the first time in four years I’ve seen something like this," Eagle said. “They’re a wild animal. So, big dog, little dog, you, just protect yourself and leave the house prepared.”

GOODYEAR, AZ (AZFamily) — Excitement is building for Arizona’s first Buc-ee’s as the project hits another milestone, officials said on Thursday.
The city announced on social media that construction work has officially begun on the famous convenience store at Bullard Avenue and Interstate 10.
Crews are doing what is called early grading, which levels all the land before the utilities are put in.
The drone video posted on social media shows how massive the lot is, and how workers are using big construction equipment to move dirt around.
In the video, Scott Ray, the director of design, construction and procurement at Buc-ee’s, explains why the company chose the specific spot in the West Valley for the new store.
“We are designed for the traveler so we want to be right off the interstate, right off the exchange, so when the families are on that road trip to see grandma or are on vacation, they can see us and pull in and get the best experience they’ve ever had,” Ray said.
If everything goes as planned, the 75,400-square-foot retail store and gas station will be open by Christmas 2025.

City officials say the project is expected to bring more than 200 full-time jobs to the West Valley.
The Goodyear Buc-ee’s is expected to have 120 fueling stations, homemade barbecue and fudge, a wide selection of its ever-popular “Beaver Nuggets,” and its acclaimed “wall of beef jerky.”
The Goodyear City Council approved rezoning the 71 acres for the Buc-ee’s location in January and the land sale was completed in March.
The chain currently operates 47 stores in Texas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri and South Carolina.
Buc-ee’s is widely regarded for its lovable beaver mascot and hot food (hello, brisket and tacos!). The chain also currently boasts the record for the largest gas station in the world at its Sevierville, Tennessee, location. Not only that, but Buc-ee’s won “Best Restroom in America” in 2012. And if you want to operate a car wash, you can make enough to make an honest, six-figure salary.
What else might you find at Buc-ee’s? Sure, there are walls of nuts, gummy candies, and your favorite gas station snacks, but there are also many things you won’t see anywhere else. Take, for example, Beaver Nuggets, a best-seller that’s probably best described as a sweet version of “Corn Nuts” you’ll find at the grocery store. And the food? Oh man, the food! It’s authentic Texas-style barbeque the whole way: smoked for at least 12 hours and served on a mouth-watering bun.
Feeling adventurous? Get some Buc-ee’s-branded hot sauce (and take some home, too). But if you’re also looking for something to cater to that sweet tooth, you’ve got fudge, Dr. Pepper Icees’, and every southern grandmother’s favorite classic: banana pudding.
