  • Rugs: If your rugs get wet during flooding or from another water disaster, they may be salvageable. We'll work hard to save all the rugs in your property.

Disaster Response Fix

Disaster Response specializes in every kind of damage caused by rain, wind, or snowstorms. We handle water damage, mold, mildew, and more, and can be at your home or office within an hour of your call to assess the situation and put a water damage restoration plan into action.

What Tools Does Disaster Response Use for Water Damage Clean-Up?

We only use the best equipment! With our extensive experience in the Rochester restoration industry, we've acquired state-of-the-art tools designed to tackle a wide range of challenges. This experience has also allowed our technicians to identify which type of equipment is best for a particular situation. Some of the most common water damage restoration tools we use include:

Infrared

Infrared Cameras

Our infrared cameras give us the ability to see moisture in walls and ceilings that is not visible to the naked eye, almost like having "X-ray" vision. This capability allows us to detect and address trapped and hidden humidity, significantly reducing the risk of mold growth.

Moisture

Moisture Meters

We use moisture meters to measure moisture levels in cellulose material. Before and after the drying process, we will conduct moisture readings in all areas of your property. If we detect moisture in an unaffected area of your building, we'll get to work quickly to dry it.

Air Movers

Air Movers

This equipment is designed to work in conjunction with our dehumidifiers. While our dehumidifiers extract moisture from the air and convert it to a liquid, our Air Mover helps to circulate this moisture in the air so that the dehumidifier can effectively remove it.

Generators

Ozone Generators

These advanced tools enable us to cleanse affected surfaces and the air in a more effective manner. Ozone Generators work by causing oxygen molecules to implode, making them a valuable deodorization tool.

Xtractor

Xtreme Xtractor

This tool is great for tackling tough moisture after water damage. It allows us to apply direct pressure to a surface, like a carpet, that has soaked up water. The pressure helps draw out the water, making it easier to remove.

Top 3 Types of Water Damage You Should Know About

Water damage can strike without warning and can wreak havoc on your property, leaving you feeling hopeless and overwhelmed. Whether it's from a burst pipe, a severe storm, or an overflowing appliance, your property needs immediate water damage clean-up in Rochester, MI, to prevent further harm. Here are the top three types of water damage you should know about:

Clean Water Damage

Clean Water Damage

Clean

This type of water damage happens from a "clean" source, such as rainwater or a broken pipe in your home. It's easier to clean up than others on this list but can still cause extensive property damage when ignored.

Gray Water Damage

Gray Water Damage

Gray-Water

Gray water damage stems from appliances such as toilets without feces, washing machines, and dishwashers. Gray water sometimes contains bacteria and contaminants that can make you or your family sick.

Black Water Damage

Black Water Damage

Black-Water

The name alone indicates the severity of this type of water damage. It's caused by backed-up sewer lines, river flooding, and standing water that supports bacteria growth. Black water presents serious health hazards and needs to be handled by professional water damage contractors.

If you suspect your home or business has been damaged by one or more of the types of water above, take the following steps:

Stop the Source of Water
  • Be Safe: Turn off all electricity running through your property. Don't go near or touch any water you believe to be contaminated.
  • Stop the Source of Water: If you're able, put a stop to the water at its source. That way, you can prevent more damage.
  • Call Disaster Response: Contact our water damage company ASAP for water restoration services. Our team is available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.

Our Process for Water Damage Restoration in Rochester, MI

Having a water damage restoration company by your side who knows how to remediate moisture is a key factor in getting your life back on track. At Disaster Response, we have refined our process over 40+ years of water damage clean-up experience. That way, we can provide customers with reliable, comprehensive service when they need it the most.

We utilize powerful pumps and vacuums to eliminate standing water from your property. Swift water removal is essential in minimizing damage and lowering the likelihood of mold growth. Our team is dedicated to ensuring efficient water extraction to prevent any additional complications.

After extracting water from your property, we dry and dehumidify the impacted areas. We use industrial-grade dehumidifiers and air movers to do so to eliminate moisture from walls, floors, and furniture. Proper drying helps prevent warping, swelling, and the growth of mold.

Whenever we deal with water damage, we have to address the potential contaminants and bacteria that can enter your home. We make sure to thoroughly clean and sanitize all affected areas to create a safe living environment. This involves cleaning carpets, upholstery, and personal belongings. Our technicians also use antimicrobial treatments to prevent mold and bacterial growth.

The final step in the process is the restoration of your home to its pre-damage condition. This comprehensive restoration process may encompass a range of tasks, from minor repairs such as replacing drywall and installing new carpeting to major reconstruction efforts. Rest assured that Disaster Response is fully equipped to manage all aspects of water damage restoration, from start to finish.

  • Maintenance: Have your business or home's roof, appliances, and plumbing inspected by professionals to spot early signs of wear and tear.
  • Water Alarms: If there is a flood or leak in your home, a water alarm can alert you so that you can take action immediately.
  • Drainage: Your home needs proper drainage systems in place at all times. To prevent water buildup, be sure to unclog your downspouts and gutters.
  • Cracks and Gaps: Be sure to seal up any cracks and gaps in your property's foundation to limit water from getting inside.

ROCHESTER, MI — A new pet food and grooming store opened Saturday in Rochester.

Wag N’ Wash, located at 4918 N. Adams Rd., is a one-stop, neighborhood pet store that offers a full-service grooming salon, self-serve pet wash and thousands of brand name products, including food, treats, toys and other pet care essentials.

To celebrate the new location, Wag N’ Wash Rochester will host a weekend-long grand opening event on Nov. 16 and 17 with 4x rewards points available on all purchases. The weekend festivities will include:

In addition, customers will have an opportunity to win either a $250, $100, or $50 gift card and receive a coupon. For more information and to enter text "rochester" to 34653, or visit qkly.co/wnw/rochestergiveaway.

The new store is owned by metro Detroit native Mike Swader, who plans to build connections with other local community organizations to strengthen the bond between pets and their owners through proper products, services, education and supporting a healthy pet lifestyle.

The store will be managed by Chris Foster, whom Swader met while a freshman at Central Michigan University. The two have remained close friends for more than two decades.

"Foster and I are really excited to embark on this journey with Wag N’ Wash,"Swader said. "We want to create a place where employees feel inspired to work and neighbors feel welcome and supported in caring for their pets. It’s important to offer everyone the support they need, and at Wag N’ Wash, we’re committed to delivering that support to both our team and the community."

Swader also decided that Wag N’ Wash Rochester will continuously donate to local pet rescues, adoption centers and veterinary offices in honor of his mother, whom he lost earlier this year.

Imagine waking up to a day filled with enchantment and holiday cheer. Today, you’re not just an observer; you’re an active participant in a winter wonderland adventure in Rochester, Michigan. From the historical elegance of Meadow Brook Hall to the dazzling lights of the Big Bright Light Show, let me guide you through a day that promises to be nothing short of magical.

Enjoy Breakfast at Bean & Leaf Cafe

Your day begins in the heart of Rochester with a warm, inviting breakfast at Bean & Leaf Cafe. As you sip on a perfectly brewed coffee and savor a freshly baked pastry, the quaint charm of this Metro Detroit town embraces you. The café buzzes with friendly locals, and the aroma of coffee blends with the crisp winter air, setting a perfect tone for the day.

Shop & Stroll Through Downtown

Post-lunch, take a stroll through downtown. This is your time to discover Rochester’s heart and soul. Boutique shops offer unique finds, while art galleries showcase local talent. It’s a great way to support the local community while checking gifts off your holiday shopping list.

A few of my favorite local shops include:

Grab a Leisurely Lunch

As the morning gives way to afternoon, find yourself at O’Connor’s Public House in Rochester. Here, the ambiance is as rich as the history it’s steeped in.

As you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm, rustic ambiance, where every corner tells a story of Ireland’s rich history. The pub, crafted by the Prairie Pub Company, an authentic Irish Pub builder, boasts floors over 140 years old and stained glass from Irish churches.

Here, you’ll indulge in authentic Irish food, surrounded by hospitable vibes and the spirit of “Craic” – good food, good drinks, and lively conversation. It’s a place where every meal is a celebration, every bite a journey to the heart of Ireland, right in downtown Rochester.

Step into History at Meadow Brook Hall

Next, take a drive just west of downtown and find yourself standing before the grandeur of Meadow Brook Hall. As I walked through these halls, I was struck by the intricate details and stories each room whispered. You’ll feel the same sense of awe as you explore this Tudor-revival mansion, once home to the automotive aristocracy.

Meadow Brook Hall offers a truly enchanting holiday experience with its two signature events: the Holiday Walk and Winter Wonder Lights. The holiday decorations are a sight to behold, with each room offering a different theme and a new surprise.

Don’t miss the gardens, even in winter; their serene beauty is a testament to the estate’s timeless elegance.

Meadow Brook Hall has proudly secured the fourth spot in the 2023 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards for Best Holiday Historic Home Tour. Meadow Brook Hall stood out as the sole representative from Michigan among nearly twenty historic house museums nationwide.

“This national recognition from critics and readers around the country is such a point of pride for us at Meadow Brook Hall,” said Shannon O’Berski, director of external relations at Meadow Brook Hall. “It is a special honor to be ranked among the nation’s magnificent historic house museums for our incredible Holidays at Meadow Brook experience. We are also proud of our fellow Detroit attractions for placing in their categories—the Detroit Zoo and America’s Parade Company. It’s a wonderful recognition for Michigan!”

During the day, the Holiday Walk invites you to step back in time and explore the historic mansion, adorned in shimmering holiday splendor. Each room of this Tudor-revival mansion, once home to automotive royalty, is decked out in a unique theme, offering a new surprise at every turn.

The holiday decorations are not just decorations; they are a festive journey through history and elegance. The serene beauty of the gardens, even in winter, adds to the estate’s timeless charm.

As night falls, Winter Wonder Lights transforms the estate into a breathtaking outdoor light show. This evening event features music, seasonal treats, and a magical atmosphere.

The grounds of Meadow Brook Hall come alive with vibrant lights and holiday magic, creating an unforgettable experience. It’s a perfect blend of historical elegance and modern festivity.

NOTE: All tickets must be purchased online in advance and are available for specific dates and times.

Meadow Brook Hall also hosts special events like Starlight Stroll, Holiday Tea, and Santa Saturdays, adding more options to your holiday experience.

This holiday season, Meadow Brook Hall is not just a destination; it’s a journey into a festive world where history and holiday cheer blend seamlessly. Whether you’re walking through the historic halls or marveling at the light displays, these events at Meadow Brook offer a unique way to celebrate the season.

Dine in Downtown Rochester

As evening sets in, it’s time for dinner. Rochester’s dining scene comes alive at night. I chose a family-friendly restaurant where the ambiance was as delightful as the meal. It’s a perfect setting to relax and prepare for the night’s highlight.

Dinner at Paul’s on Main Street feels like a natural choice, a place where the warmth of a family kitchen meets the charm of a small-town eatery. Here, amidst the bustle of Main Street, Paul’s stands as a cozy retreat, offering a menu that’s both familiar and comforting. It’s the kind of place where the food – hearty American classics – tastes like it’s been prepared with a personal touch, a reminder of home-cooked meals and shared stories.

Choosing Paul’s for dinner isn’t just about the food, which ranges from savory waffles to perfectly cooked salmon. It’s about experiencing the essence of Rochester – a community that prides itself on warmth, hospitality, and a sense of belonging.

As you settle into the inviting ambiance, surrounded by the gentle hum of friendly conversations, you realize that Paul’s isn’t just a stop on your itinerary; it’s a key part of your Rochester holiday experience, embodying the town’s spirit in every bite.

Discover the Big Bright Light Show

Now, the moment you’ve been waiting for: the Big Bright Light Show.

The Big Bright Light Show in Rochester Michigan, stands out as a dazzling holiday tradition, transforming the downtown area into a vibrant spectacle of over a million lights. This event extends beyond a mere display; it embodies the festive spirit and community joy of the holiday season.

The buildings along the main streets are covered in meticulously arranged lights, creating a stunning visual effect that brightens the night sky and brings a festive atmosphere to the entire area. The streets come alive with holiday music and the scent of seasonal treats, enhancing the experience.

Running from late November through early January, the show offers an extended opportunity for visitors to bask in its beauty. It’s not just a draw for the community but also a significant attraction for visitors, bringing together people from all walks of life.

Local businesses contribute to this festive spirit by extending their hours, allowing visitors to enjoy unique shopping and dining experiences under the glow of the lights.

Its accessibility and family-friendly nature make it an ideal outing for all ages, with families, couples, and individuals strolling through the illuminated streets at their own pace. Adding to its appeal, the Big Bright Light Show is free to the public, making it a popular choice for those seeking festive entertainment without the expense.

Holiday Memories for Years to Come

As your day in Rochester comes to a close, you’re not just taking home souvenirs, but memories that will last a lifetime. From the historical elegance of Meadow Brook Hall to the enchanting lights of downtown, Rochester offers a holiday experience that’s both unique and deeply fulfilling.

So, bundle up, step out, and immerse yourself in the magic of Rochester, Michigan. Trust me, it’s a journey you’ll cherish forever.

The band, founded in 1971, is best-known for their smooth, soulful sound that’s filled with catchy hooks and memorable melodies. They can also mix it up and feature an inimitable Southern-fried style, while also phasing in jazz and blues licks.

Justo said the band likes to change things up night-to-night to keep things feeling fresh, but fans can expect the band to play seven of their more well-known songs, including "So in to You," "I’m Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight," "Spooky," "Champagne Jam," "Imaginary Lover," "do it or die" and "Dog Days."

"They’re going to hear all the hits, and they're going to hear them played, let’s say respectfully…like what they expected to hear," Justo said. "We do what we think the fans what us to do."

Some fans have told Justo that the show feels like they were 'reliving my whole college experience.'

"We want the audience to have a good time," Justo said.

The original lineup of Atlanta Rhythm Section featured Justo on vocals, guitarist Barry Bailey, bassist Paul Goddard, keyboardist Dean Daughtry, drummer Robert Nix and guitarist J.R. Cobb.

The band's best-selling album was "Champagne Jam," which was released in 1978 and features "Imaginary Lover," which reached No.7 on the charts. The album also features the song "Large Time," which is a tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd, who lost some of its members in a plane crash the previous October.
